Getting ready for the big holiday!

I finally got that privacy screen/pergola/trellis (or whatever you want to call it) built! And I just replanted the grass AGAIN!

Ok, so after a torrential downpouring of rain, 4 days in a row… I found my landscape design looked better on paper….. It needed a minor adjustment to help move the rain water away from the foundation (don’t ask!) Not that I had a huge amount of leaking, but enough to warrent a little more…

After much back breaking work, I think the patio is finally complete. I was finally able to install some lights that weren’t to gawdy looking. This photo sure makes the patio look alot bigger! I guess I may paint that lower concrete section though… OK, so it’s not completely complete!

I still need to add new lights outside, but things have pretty much been completed here! Click on the image to see a comparison.

I finally got Liz a garden area built and the tomatoes and basil are loving it! I ‘ve been raking rocks and put in a new walkway. We’ve been landscaping through heat and rain for the last 3 weeks. God, I am so close to sticking a fork in this baby.

As you can see here, the dirt pile has been spred, fertilized, and seeded. While I was at it (even though it was nearly 100 degrees today, I brought in a ton of earth tone reiver rock to finish the new area. Even my pet rock is happy! Now I just have to spread the…

All I need to do now is spread it out! EEEKKK! Ok kids, get shoveling! It’s only 6 yards of manure…

Slowly but surely, the new patio is coming along nicely. We just added new furniture (although we still need more chairs!) We still need to added lighting. And the new lawn & fence is scheduled in the new few weeks. THEN summer can begin!

  After watching Dave ride off in the sunset so many times, Marielle finally gets her shot at riding the big bike!

I don’t know about you, but I’m running out of places to put the dang stuff!

In 2010, Coney Island was slated to be mostly torn down and gentrified with new rides and The Coney Casino plan. I convinced mom and dad that we’d better make haste while there’s still time. Chris joined us from PA.

2007 brought us into a new house. A victorian style builit around 1900. We are the 4th owner.
